If sustainability and organic gardening are appealing to you, leave a portion of the property you own undeveloped to give wildlife a place to thrive. Your cultivated garden spaces will benefit from the various insects and wildlife that will inhabit and pollinate the undeveloped space.

After sprouting occurs, you will not need to keep seeds as warm. Locate your plants further from your heat source as they mature. If you have plastic films on your containers, remove them. Keep an eye on your seeds in order to know when you should do this.

Tuck away some plastic grocery bags and use them to slip over your muddy boots. This lets you be able to return to the garden without interrupting your work.

You need to avoid chores in your organic garden stacking up. If you’re too busy to do all those little things each day, there are some small steps you can take to not have all that work build up on you. The newspaper will block sunlight and weeds won’t be able to grow. Newspapers also decompose fairly quickly, and mix with your garden soil. Add visual appeal by placing some mulch over the top.

A beer trap can help to eradicate slugs. Take a glass jar and bury it so that the soil is even with its mouth. Pour enough beer into the jar to fill it below an inch from the top. Slugs will be attracted to the beer and find themselves trapped.

Get your organic garden certified so you can credibly claim that your crops are organic. Having certification will increase your sales and verify to your customers that what you are selling is the best produce available.
